So history is very boring for many students. How can that be made interesting?

Hey priyamvada!
One very quick way to get students thinking creatively about history would be to do a “Flipped Facts” activity with them once they have learned or read about a specific event in history.
Basically the way “Flipped facts” works is that first students create a quick recap/summary of the historical event you have studied. This give you an idea of how well they understood the event and gives them a chance to review their knowledge.
Next, you have them take their recap and “Flip” things around a bit. This gives them a chance to re-tell the historical event by changing some key facts and thinking about what would have happened if things were done differently or if certain aspects never happened.This gives them a chance to “rewrite history” in a way and requires them to truly know the real event well enough so that they can change it.
If you look in the “Two minute tips” section in Teachonomy Video gallery section, and look for the “Flipped Facts’ strategy you will find the short video walkthrough of this strategy and the downloadable materials to go with it to help you.
This is just one simple idea to change things up a bit and tap into your students’ imaginations 🙂
